The submission deadline for the Symposium "Multidisciplinary aspects of human rights protection in light of global challenges" has been extended

The submission deadline for participating in the International Scientific Symposium for Doctoral Students and Young Scientists - "Multidisciplinary Aspects of Human Rights Protection in light of Global Challenges" has been extended until March 11, 2024, to the following e-mail address: symposium.law@tsu.ge

 

To support doctoral students and young scientists of higher educational institutions of Georgia, to deepen national and international scientific cooperation, the TSU Faculty of Law, with the support of the Ministry of Justice of Georgia’s grant program - "Promoting the introduction of innovative services in the system of the Ministry of Justice of Georgia, strengthening the protection of human rights and legal security" – permanent International Student Scientific Symposium (hereinafter - "Symposium") will take place annually, and its purpose is to develop the research skills of doctoral students and young scientists and to involve them in scientific activities.

 

The International Scientific Symposium is planned to be held in 2024 and will be dedicated to the discussion of human rights. The participants will have the opportunity, in the context of their doctoral thesis, or from any other perspective, to assess the current issues of human rights and individual rights in Georgia and in the world.

 

A person can participate in the Symposium if he is a doctoral student and/or a young scientist of the Law Faculty of the higher educational institutions of Georgia, who was awarded a doctorate or an academic degree equivalent to it within the last 7 years before the date of the announcement of the competition for participation in the symposium. Additionally, the target group of the project is young scientists and doctoral students from higher educational or scientific research institutions in foreign countries. Conference sections include all areas of law, and participants are free to choose the topic of the conference paper, in agreement with their scientific supervisors.

 

Competition sections are:

- History of law;

- Constitutional law;

- Administrative law;

- Private Law;

- Methods of law;

- Criminal law;

- International law.

 

Working languages are: Georgian and English.

 

The following documents are to be presented:

- Copy of the identity document;

- Professional resume;

- Certificate of doctoral student status/copy of relevant diploma (in case of a young scientist);

- Topic title, section, and research description up to 300 words;

- Consent of the scientific supervisor (in case of a doctoral student).

 

After the deadline for receiving applications, the competition commission will review the received applications and contact each participant at their e-mail address.

 

The selection criteria are:

- Value and innovation of the selected issue;

- Planned activities and scope of research;

- Usefulness in terms of human rights protection in Georgia;

- Integration into the learning process.

 

Those wishing to participate in the symposium will be notified of the decision of the organizing team no later than 1 month after the deadline for submitting the application.
